Modern Day Warrior

Like the song said it...A Modern Day Warrior with a mean mean stride today's Tom Sawyer big big pride. - Rush

This was also the theme song of The Modern Day Warrior, Kerry Von Erich. A man who knows success. A man full of adversity. And a man who's been on the comeback trail more than once.

In honor of thy brother you defeated the legendary Nature Boy, Ric Flair in front of over 60,000 people in Texas Stadium in Dallas for the World's Heavyweight title. After a paralyzing motorcycle accident, you came back to the world of sports entertainment and reached the spotlight once again, unknown to the world you were aided by a prosthesis.

The pain must have been too much day in and day out. But you continued to work that which is in your blood. Even if you had to use illegal pain killers and abusive medications. Why? To kill the pain.

When everything went downhill along with your personal life, you took your own life with a bullet to your heart. The Von Erich curse continues. However sad your ending you will always be...The Modern Day Warrior who won the sports most coveted title for The Yellow Rose of Texas for that one night in the early 1980s. Your crowning achievement in glory will live in the legendary annals of Texas. God rest your soul Kerry Von Erich.
